Bamfield Fishing Report March 9, 2017
Bamfield Salmon Fishing report for the past week. Salmon fishing has been quite good in most areas around Bamfield. This past weekend saw the Sproat Lake Loggers spring chinook derby kick off the start of Salmon fishing for nearly 500 participants. The top fish were 20.8, 16.5, and 15.5 pounds, pretty respectable for the first week of March. I’m sure almost everyone went home with salmon. Bamfield fishing report Jan 29, 2017
The Bamfield fishing report shows that Salmon Fishing has been steady for the past week or so. As always the key to finding the salmon this time of the year is finding the feed. There seems to be lots of herring from 4 – 6 inches in the area. March is Herring Spawning time here so larger herring will show up soon. Needle fish on the sandy bottoms is another key feed. May 2016 Fishing Reports
Salmon fishing has continued to be steady. Some days are better than others of course, with the fish moving all the time. Your hot spot one day may be dead the next. I spend most of my time fishing near the bottom at this time of the year but scattered surface feed has some fish near the top. You just never know. As usual, find the feed and you find the fish.
